10:30 to 11:30 a.m. This MECCA session will consist of one and one half hour of instruction in playing, and singing harmony to Ten Top Texas Gospel Songs. The songs are compatible with a book authored by Eddie Collins as leading bluegrass Banjo instructor from Austin, Texas. Al Scott of Austin, Texas will spend one half hour teaching harmony singing to two of these songs. Jack Lauder will demonstrate the playing of these songs on the accordion. A booklet containing the lead sheets will be available.  A DVD of these songs being played on an accordion will be available. A CD containing the MIDI playing of these songs will be available to play along. A few songs  will be on You Tube as karaoke versions to sing a long. 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. This MECCA session will be lead by Daniel Kott and consist of one hour of instruction on Texas style bluegrass and Texas style jam sessions. The jam session will follow the different protocol for the two different types of jam sessions and will include the most popular jam session songs in Central Texas. 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. This MECCA session will be lead by Daniel Kott and consist of one hour of instruction on how to play for the many Texas dance organizations, such as clogging, square dance, and contra dance. The MECCA fiddlers and cloggers will demonstrate the playing and dancing styles. A booklet containing the lead sheets and dance notation for Oh Susanna, Cotton Eyed Joe, Comin round the Mountain, Soldiers Joy, and Turkey in the Straw.
